My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Such a fun story and loved the tension between the characters! Really loved this one and a great start to the series.

Tamara Gill’s “To Bedevil a Duke” is an outstanding historical romance that swept me away to the glittering ballrooms and clandestine affairs of Regency London. Set against a backdrop of societal rules and hidden desires, this novel weaves a spellbinding tale of love, secrets, and redemption.

Darcy de Merle, a widow unburdened by grief, refuses to mourn her cheating husband. Instead, she embraces widowhood and sets the ton ablaze by holding a ball on the anniversary of his death. Enter Cameron, the Duke of Athelby, a man who lives by the rules. His past experiences have taught him the consequences of revelry and carelessness. When he sees Darcy skirting the boundaries of respectability, he feels duty-bound to remind her of proper etiquette.

But Darcy won’t be told what to do. A battle of wills ensues, and all bets are off. She decides to seduce the duke, showing him that life extends beyond the rigid conventions of society. As their chemistry ignites, secrets unravel, and love becomes the ultimate reward.

Gill’s prose transports readers to a bygone era, where passion defies societal norms. Darcy’s independence and Cameron’s steadfastness create a captivating dynamic. Their stolen glances and whispered confessions add depth to their connection.

“To Bedevil a Duke” is a must-read for historical romance enthusiasts. It’s a tale of second chances, forbidden desire, and the courage to break free. I devoured it in one sitting, lost in the opulence of Regency London and the tender moments shared by Darcy and Cameron.
