My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Loved this story! Such fun characters and loved their journey to end up together!

Tamara Gill’s “To Vex a Viscount” is a delightful addition to the Lords of London series. Set in the Regency era, this novel transports readers to a world of intrigue, passion, and hidden desires.

Miss Lizzie Doherty, our spirited heroine, has endured six years without a single marriage proposal. Not due to lack of attractiveness or social standing, but simply because she is perceived as poor by the ton. When an unexpected twist of fate leads her to a masked house party, Lizzie’s life takes an exhilarating turn. The secrets and mysteries that unfold within those walls are nothing short of captivating.

Enter Lord Hugo Wakely, Viscount Wakely, a man who thrives on scandal and sin. His rakish reputation precedes him, but beneath the devil-may-care facade lies a heart yearning for more. When Lizzie and Hugo share an impromptu, scandalous kiss, their destinies intertwine. The chemistry between them ignites, leaving readers breathless.

Gill’s writing is exquisite, painting vivid scenes of opulent ballrooms, moonlit gardens, and stolen glances. Lizzie’s courage and determination make her a relatable and endearing character, while Hugo’s internal struggle adds depth to his persona. Their banter, stolen moments, and simmering attraction create an irresistible tension.

“To Vex a Viscount” is a standalone gem, but it also seamlessly connects to the broader series. Gill weaves a web of love, redemption, and second chances, leaving readers eager for more. Whether you’re a seasoned historical romance enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, this book promises an enchanting escape into a world where passion defies societal norms.
