Lord Ares by Jade Lee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Loved this series! The characters are so fun and and dynamic… really great development!
Jade Lee’s “Lord Ares” is a delightful addition to the Lords of the Masquerade series. Set against the backdrop of aristocrats and masked balls, this historical romance weaves a spellbinding story that will leave readers enchanted.
Lilah Rees, the bastard-born daughter of a gentleman, faces a society that dismisses her as illegitimate. But beneath her humble status lies a woman of intelligence, resilience, and grace. When she falls for Lord Ares (also known as Aaron, Earl of Kittrel) at the yearly mask ball, her heart is both hopeful and hesitant.
Aaron, burdened by the weight of governing England, isn’t ready to settle down. Yet fate intervenes when Lilah becomes his sister’s mentor in household management. As he witnesses Lilah’s strength, kindness, and unwavering spirit, he realizes she’s more than a gem—she’s the missing piece in his life.
Lee masterfully portrays the slow-burning romance between Lilah and Aaron. Their chemistry sizzles, their banter sparkles, and their vulnerabilities make them utterly relatable. Lilah’s determination to prove her worth and Aaron’s gradual realization of her perfection create a captivating dance of emotions.
The prose is elegant, the historical details vivid, and the characters leap off the page. Lee’s storytelling prowess shines through, making “Lord Ares” a must-read for fans of regency romance. Prepare to be swept away by passion, wit, and the magic of love.
